Application Terms and Conditions By making an application, the student who has signed the application form accepts that: These together with the sections headed “payment” and “other information” are the terms and conditions of the contract between them and Internship Scotland. The student is bound by the contract jointly and severally. The student has read and accepted the terms and conditions and undertakes that they will abide by the rules and regulations. All information supplied in connection with the application is accurate, complete and true and the student will inform the Programme Contact point of any changes to such information, in particular of:
The student indemnifies the Internship Scotland and will keep Internship Scotland indemnified against any claims, proceedings, demands, losses, damages, expenses or any other liability whatsoever arising as a result of a student’s breach of the contract or violation of rules and regulations. Internship Scotland intend to run the programme in accordance with the latest descriptions in its brochure and / or most recently published on its website. It, however, reserves the right to make any amendments to the programme at its absolute discretion and in such a manner as it sees fit and appropriate. Internship Scotland will not be responsible for any act or circumstance or condition beyond its reasonable control which limits its ability to run the relevant programme, including, but not limited to: fire, acts of God, government, terrorism, natural disaster, labour conditions and power failures nor for its failure as a result to run the relevant programme. These terms and conditions contain the whole agreement between Internship Scotland and the student in relation to all aspects of the programme. In particular, no statements, understandings, agreements, or warranties made orally or in writing, on the website, in the brochure or elsewhere shall have any relevance to these terms and conditions. Any changes to these terms and conditions will only have effect if made in writing and signed by both parties. These terms and conditions supersede all previous agreements, arrangements, and understandings but nothing herein shall be read or construed as excluding liability resulting from any fraudulent act or omission by any party. These terms and conditions may be assigned or transferred by Internship Scotland but not by the student. These terms and conditions shall be governed by Scottish law and the parties submit to the non exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts. Application Procedure and Payment Schedule: Applications must be received by Tuesday 1st May 2012. Students will be considered following receipt of a full and signed application form and all accompanying documents. Offers for places will be made by email and successful students will have 14 days from this date in order to respond. The deposit of £1000 will be due by Tuesday 1st May 2012 and will be paid online via credit card – details of how to do this will be provided in the offer email. The balance of the fee should be paid by Tuesday 29th May 2012. Failure to complete these payments will result in a student’s place on the programme being cancelled and any payments forfeited. Eligibility: All students will be required to hold the appropriate visa to take part in the Programme and are responsible for obtaining the relevant visa and travel documentation themselves. Cancellations: Places on the Programme are limited so students who then find themselves unable to attend should let the Programme Contact point know as soon as possible. Cancellations, both before or after an offer of a place to a student has been made, can be made until Tuesday 1st May 2012 inclusive. A full refund of all payments made will be given until this date. For cancellations after this date, ie Wednesday 2nd May 2012 onwards, any monies paid towards your deposit or balance will be refunded at our discretion. Travel Insurance: All students must send details of travel insurance in advance of arrival so we can confirm they are covered appropriately during their stay. Internship Scotland is not responsible for any deficiencies in your insurance policy. Medical Insurance: Although emergency medical care is provided free by the NHS in Scotland, there may be occasions where a student will be required to source treatment from a private medical treatment facility. For example: a dentist, allergy shots, and prescriptions. Travel Documents: A valid passport is essential for travel to the UK with an expiry date of at least 6 months beyond the end date of your visit. All students are responsible for arranging appropriate travel documentation, such as visas, where required. Dismissal from Programme: We reserve the right to dismiss any student found in breach of the rules and regulations of Internship Scotland and those of their placement company. Changes to the Programme: We reserve the right to change or cancel placements, and to modify the programme as circumstances dictate. We will advise students of any changes which significantly alter the job placement they have been selected for. Responsibility / Liability: Internship Scotland will exercise due care in arranging and conducting the programme. We cannot, however, assume responsibility or liability for any damage, loss, claim or injury of any kind whatsoever resulting from any act of omission, commission or inadvertence of any employment provider or accommodation provider; or carrier or other company or person rendering any of the services required as part of the programme. Nor can Internship Scotland be responsible for any student who breaks the rules and regulations of the programme and / or employer and in so doing suffers loss or injury. To the maximum extent permitted by law, nternship Scotland excludes liability for any loss or damage of any kind however arising. This includes without limitation any direct, indirect or consequential monetary or other loss suffered by a student as a result of the student taking part in any of the programme’s placements and programmes. In the unlikely event, that a Scottish court holds that Internship Scotland is directly responsible for any such loss or damage, we will pay to the student who has suffered loss up to the amount equal to the price paid to Internship Scotland for the relevant programme. Internship Scotland will not assume responsibility or liability for any damage, loss, claim, or injury resulting from events beyond its control including, without limitation: acts of God, strikes, acts of terrorism, politically or religious motivated violence, war, sickness, government restrictions or regulations, weather, quarantine or wilful or negligent acts of third parties or suppliers (and employers) to Internship Scotland. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude any liability of Internship Scotland for death or personal injury arising from its own negligence nor affect any rights which the student(s) have as consumers.
